Naive Farm Scene
Naïve oil on board of a farm scene with a very charming horse and cart included. Overall the scene is incredibly disproportional clearly the work of a young artist and/or amateur.
Indistinctly signed “(?) Wallis” in the lower right hand side.
The frame has been applied by “Roe Bros.” of Weston-Super-Mare, so is post 1934 in date. The painting itself likely to be slightly earlier.
Some minor losses of gesso to the frame, the painting has been sympathetically restored.
English, early 20th century.
