SINGER MACHINIST’S STOOL

Perfect original example of the iconic Singer sewing stool. c.1930

Originally, these stools lined factory floors, and were adapted over time to make them more comfortable for workers. In completely original condition with white over-paint and ply seat. Height adjustable via lockable thread. Singer manufactures mark to all three legs.

During the mid-nineteenth century, the Singer Company became world-famous with its invention, the sewing machine. In 1910, the company launched a range of professional furniture for the textile industry, the centerpiece of the collection a stool with a cast-iron base and wooden seat
