Legacy Antiques And Collectibles Ltd

Rebecca Preston

I first started Legacy Antiques and Collectibles Ltd back in 2005, on my 18th birthday. I had been dabbling in buying and selling for about 10 years at that point, encouraged by my parents. I had grown up around antiques and collectibles, as my father and grandmother were avid buyers and collectors. When I was younger, I traded in comics and toys, focusing on bears by Steiff, Schuco, and Merrythought.

I began moving on to glass and ceramics in my teens. The Whitefriars frenzy that exploded in about 2002 was what got me hooked. I did some buying and selling throughout my higher education and then decided to pursue it once I'd finished my A-Levels. I started by selling pieces through eBay, and then eventually had my own online shop built in 2009. The website now hosts about half of the 10,000+ pieces I have in my warehouse.

I specialise predominantly in glassware, with a great focus on 20th century British lead crystal. I was incredibly fortunate to have been given original company catalogues for Stuart Crystal, Dartington Crystal, Orrefors, and Bohemia Crystal (to name but a few) going back some 60 years. After digitising approximately 8,000 images, I have now built myself an amazing computerised catalogue of glassware from hundreds of companies spanning much of the 20th century.

I also stock ceramics, jewellery, and anything else that piques my interest.

I trade with people across the globe, with some customers even travelling from abroad to collect items. I have also provided pieces for film and TV; with the increase in popularity in period and vintage dramas, antiques are still in great demand.
